UCP is proud to have been awarded a Technical Assistance grant by the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County (CBHC). This grant has enabled us to significantly upgrade our technological capabilities throughout the agency.
We are thankful to our continued partnership with the CBHC and the assistance they provide us that helps us provide high quality programs and services to the children, adults, and families of Hillsborough County.
Summer Care is in full swing thanks to continued support from United Way Suncoast. Children who are involved in quality summer programs, have access to books, and are supported with appropriate reading instruction are able to maintain the skills acquired during the school year. THAT is why providing academic opportunities for low income children is a part of United Way’s innovative Summer Care program.

United Way of Tampa Bay has once again approved funding for our Summer Care program. UCP wants to say Thank you to United Way for providing this wonderful opportunity for children with disabilities and/or their siblings.
This Summer Care program is designed for children 5 – 12 years of age, with a disability. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents of a child with a disability who have limited options on summer placement for their child(ren). The summer care experience will provide a fun filled summer of learning and social opportunities for the child while their parents or caregivers are able to maintain employment. United Way has three goals for the program:
1. To provide free full-time child care during the summer for low-income families
2. To provide financial education to the parents
3. To address summer learning loss disparities of low-income children
The caregivers of the participants are required to attend two financial literacy classes prior to the summer care program’s starting dates. The dates and times of these classes are to be announced soon. Our summer care program will run Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The camp will begin on June 8 and run through August 20, 2015.
Space is limited to 20 participants.
